The Good To Be Creator Course Launch

The BTL Client

Alexandrea Garza is a lifestyle influencer with a combined audience of more than 1.7 million between YouTube (her bread and butter), Instagram, and TikTok. With the support of her husband Michael, Alex has made an extremely lucrative full-time career out of content creation, and with the first-ever launch of their new signature course, Good To Be Creator, she’s teaching women all over the world how to do the same.

Alex and Michael first founded the Good To Be brand several years ago as a clothing store that they quickly transitioned into an e-commerce leisure-wear brand, with seasonal drops (and a different charity connected to each one, with 10% of their profits going toward a great cause with each drop).

They have big plans for the growth of this brand, and the next item on their to-do list was this course, so they could continue to serve their community in the way they knew no one else would be able to.

The Project

Since the beginning of her success on social media, Alex has been passionate about helping other aspiring creators grow their channels and social media accounts. She’d successfully helped tons of people in her personal life grow their own respective followings, and she was constantly DMing and chatting with her followers about how they could do the same.

After more than a decade on social media and over eight years as a full-time creator, Alex is true pioneer of the influencing industry, and with the launch of Good To Be Creator, she began her next chapter as an educator in the social media career field.

For this project, we collaborated on:

The Target Audience

The ideal Good To Be Creator student is a woman of any age who wants to either make a living or increase her income by creating content online. The GTBC woman is an organized go-getter who needs support from an expert to make her dreams of monetizing social media come true.

Their Pain Points and Hesitations

Problem: I want to make money on social media, but I don’t know how… it feels impossible to start from nothing.”

Sales Page Copy Solution:

“I’ve been a creator for 10+ years now…but my journey to becoming an online success wasn’t as glamorous as it may seem. As a cosmetologist and makeup artist in my small town in Michigan, I loved my work and the women I was helping. But- I knew I wanted to reach and inspire more women than just the ones in my chair.

At that time, being a social media influencer was basically unheard of, but I knew creating content would allow me to reach women worldwide.

After years of creating content with no real strategy or plan, I felt defeated and lost. Then, I decided to research as much as I could about the social media industry, and created the Good To Be Creator Method.

After implementing this method I grew a massive audience and started making more money than I ever dreamed of. I was able to quit my job less than a year later.

And now I’m helping you do the same by teaching you the Good To Be Creator Method for success.”

Hesitation: I’m passionate about creating content online, but I’m nervous about what my friends and family will think… I’m kind of embarrassed.

Sales Page Copy Solution:

“Can I be real with you for a second? It doesn’t matter what those people say. If you’re dedicated to learning how to monetize content creation and building your ideal lifestyle around it—and you know this is the path for you—then your opinion is the only one that matters.

Sure, when you post your first video, it may not get thousands of views. But the difference between YOU and everyone else who starts? You’ll have the Good To Be Creator Method in your toolkit. And that method is based on strategy, backed by actual results.

So, you can choose to listen to your friends, who don’t know how to grow an audience online… Or you can choose to listen to me, as I teach you exactly how to do it.”

Anxiety: I think I might be too old to make a living on social media.

Sales Page Copy Solution:

“If you’re wondering whether it’s ‘too late to start’—listen up: there’s no age limit on social media. Whether you’re 19 or 59, there will be plenty of people interested in following along with the type of content you want to create.

For example, styling tips for women in their 50s, or meal ideas for busy women in their 40s, or nonfiction book reviews for freelancers in their 30s.

The number one thing you need to stand out from the crowd on social media, is authenticity. Who you already are is enough. Your personality is your biggest asset, and all you need to get started is a bit of support and strategy.”

Struggle: I’ve tried so many different times to succeed online, but I’ve never been able to find any resources to help me really get started. I need something to actually help AND motivate me.

BTL’s Best Part

This project was a huge milestone in my career. Not because Alex is a famous influencer with a huge platform, but because she’s my personal favorite influencer, and I’d been following along with her channel since my freshman year of college (hint: a long freaking time ago).

She’s one of the only creators on YouTube—trust me, I watch a LOT of YouTube—who truly portrays a ‘normal’ life. And I’m so happy to report that she’s exactly the same in real life as she is online.

Alex is the only client I’ve ever worked with that I reached out to myself, and I couldn’t be more excited with how it worked out. I normally don’t suggest freelancers reach out to clients unless they’re either first starting out (and looking for sample work just to get their feet off the ground) or they’re hoping to work with an absolute dream client.

And, as you may have guessed, this was a dream-client situation for me.

The reason I don’t recommend reaching out to clients yourself is because they often don’t understand the value of your services when you do that.

It can be difficult to advocate for your value to someone that doesn’t already see it, especially if your services aren’t a definite necessity. (I mean, I personally believe no business can thrive without professional website copy, but I’m not going to say that it’s a necessity, because one could do it on their own.) But Alex wasn’t like that at all.

I first reached out to her when I noticed she launched her new Instagram account for Good To Be Creator. It only had four posts on the account when I came across it, and but I knew she was up to something.

So, like the true extrovert I am, I sent her a message telling her that I’d been a subscriber for practically the entirety of her social media journey, congratulating her on her new project, and mentioning that I’m a website and sales page copywriter specializing in course launches should she be thinking of (or planning on) launching her own someday.

Three days passed, and I had completely forgotten that I’d messaged her, and she responded asking me to email her about setting up a discovery call.

Aaaannddd obviously I freaked out, emailed her ASAP, and one week later, we were getting started on the process of launching Good To Be Creator.

“Thank you so much for all of your help with getting my message out there. You helped take so much off my plate, and made this whole experience so much smoother. Everyone is loving the sales page! I’ll definitely be recommending you to anyone I know that needs a copywriter, and I’ll of course be needing your help for new projects in the future, too.” — Alexandrea Garza

The Results

Alex and Michael opened the doors to Good To Be Creator for eight days, and 215 students signed up for the course. I was so excited about their success that I felt like it was my success—that launch’s gross revenue was more than $172,000. On a first-time launch.

Alex shared with me that she received compliments about her sales page left and right, and I was even getting messages from her followers directly complimenting me, eager to follow along with my copywriting journey as well, thanks to Alex’s recommendation.

(If you’re extra invested in the success that was Good To Be Creator, view her post about her launch results, and if you’re local to Nashville, check out Bite Club Baked Goods, where I ordered her gorgeous celebratory cake from!)

The Final Product
