There’s nothing a website copywriter loves more than writing for a client who does a very specific thing for a very specific audience, has a chill brand voice, understands the value of a great website, and trusts you implicitly.

And that, dear reader, is Kaytee from Moxie and Fourth.

So, naturally, writing this website was a dream for me.

Meet Kaytee the Newsletter Lady

Whether you need structure, strategy, or swipe-and-send support, there’s a Moxie offer built to meet you where you are and help you get where you want to go.

Kaytee is an email marketer for travel advisors, and after reading her zilllion testimonials, I can confirm: she is damn good at what she does.

But, before working with me, her website didn’t reflect that.

In her words:

“Right now it’s an outdated hodge-podge of kindddd of about me + offers but it’s meh at best, and I get WAY TOO MANY GODDAMN QUESTIONS, so I know it’s not only failing to sell my offers, it’s failing to answer questions before those questions find their way to my inbox.

My site definitely could be doing a better job of explaining why they need to care about email marketing and why my offers are the solution.”

SO THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I MADE HAPPEN FOR HER!

The Website Goals

Kaytee wanted her website to answer every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 question 👏🏻 her leads could possibly ever ask — which, according to her, is a lot.

She’s a ridiculously inspiring boundary queen, and she did NAWT want to have to field questions every damn day. She may be an email marketer, but she’s not interested in inbox back-and-forths with meh leads who ask silly questions.

So, the main goal was — aside from making Kaytee the obvious solution for her leads was our top priority, of course — was to make sure her website has ALL the info on it.

We also focused on proving her expertise, selling her offers in a more convincing way, and simplifying the parts of email marketing she knows her ideal clients find difficult.

How We Made Things Sound Simple, So Selling Became Easier

Kaytee knows how much her clients yearn for a life where marketing feels simple, so we decided that simplifying email marketing had to be the main theme.

(Plus, that’s literally her zone of genius, so…)

Here are just a FEW examples of how we did that ↓

We wanted to make a lot of this website copy feel really reassuring, encouraging readers that they definitely can be good at email marketing.

Kaytee knows her audience has a LOT of limiting beliefs when it comes to email marketing (and that some of them believe these weird girlboss myths…) so we felt it best to address it head on!

I love how direct + confident this section is! Any time one of my clients is down to be wicked clear like this, I’m salivating. Kaytee’s clients love reading very simple, easy-to-understand copy so nothing is left for them to question! And they want to be certain Kaytee is the one for them so they don’t have to second guess their decision to work together.

The Review

At the end of every project, I send my clients a feedback form asking for the REAL tea on their thoughts about working together. Here’s what Kaytee had to say 👀

Q: What’s one thing I should keep doing?

“That big ass pre-project questionnaire was so helpful in making me sit down and really dig into my ideal client, offers, and business in general! I also loved the easy collab back and forth on the Google doc, along with the final call we did to walk through live edits. AND most importantly, I felt very comfortable suggesting edits/sharing my thoughts as we went along!”

Q: Out of everyone you could’ve picked, why were you drawn to work with me?

“Mostly because a lot of other copywriters I browsed all seemed WAY TOO BUTTONED UP. Yes I want to be professional, but that doesn’t need to = boring, and your own website showed me that authentic copy can convert without being overly polished and fake and boring and lame!

I also don’t tolerate mediocrity, and I can tell from your online presence that you don’t half-ass anything, so I knew I needed to slap down the cash money for someone as OCD/ type A as me.”

Q: How did you feel BEFORE working with me?

“I had taken a few of your workshops and courses so I had a feel for the vibe and had no concerns at all about the quality of what you produce! I was a little concerned about my voice coming through but after reading the first draft, I was like “did I write this??”

Hovering over the “pay now” button was a doozy, since this was by far my biggest investment in my business, but I knew it was a job for a professional and I have ZEROOO regrets.

I literally cannot wait to see how fresh + professional copy impacts my revenue moving forward (and my inbox, because answering 14,000 questions per day from my unclear website was killing me).”

Q: How did you feel AFTER working with me?

“SUCH A GOOD INVESTMENT. And so easy?! I’d still be staring at a blinking cursor on my home page if I had tried to tackle this myself. I’m still baffled as to HOW you wrote all of that, so quickly, while sounding like me (witchcraft????).”

Q: What would you say to someone considering working with me?

“DO IT. But know your business first! I think that it was good that I waited until I understood my business, offers, and audience before investing in copywriting because I was able to articulate what I need and wanted, what my audience struggles with, and have the copy reflect that!

Now I feel like my copy can grow with me as my business evolves without having to be completely overhauled.”

Q: Ok so what’s your official review?!

“Once I reached a point in my business where I knew professional copywriting was a need-to-have, I knew Sara would be the one I hired, and now I want to buy my OWN offers because my website copy is THAT persuasive.

I wanted authentic copy that got the point across without boring my website visitors to tears, and I wanted my personality to come through while still clearly articulating what I did, who I did it for, and why they should care. Sara managed to make my very unsexy business sound exciting, and that’s saying a lot for an entire website about email marketing. As soon as I read the first draft, I knew my investment would be worth every penny.

The process was SO easy, and I’m still not sure how on earth Sara made my copy sound so much like me. I used to ignore my website (and kinda hoped everyone else would, too) and now I want everyone and their brother to visit it OR ELSE.”
